(Eight) & 9 months old!

Colby is now 9 months old!! We can't believe it!

9 month stats:
Weight: 19 lbs 13 ounces
Length: 29 inches

Size clothes: Because of his height, he is in at least 12-18 month clothes. In many pants and romper outfits/fleece feet pjs, he is in 18 months. He is even wearing some 24 month shirts. He is so long, but only like the 40th% for weight, so he swims in a lot of the clothes, but needs the length of the size!

We realize we slacked a little on his 8 month update, but this post should provide enough photos to sink a ship... :)

New things:

At 7.5 months (on Labor DAY) - Colby began to crawl! And has not stopped! He is so quick, crawls on laps, over things, and is starting to stand on his feet and pull up on low things. Oh man, he is going to be a quick walker we think!

He still eats his homemade baby food (it's chunky now, I make it like a stew consistency) and started finger foods, He really likes egg yolk omelettes and whole wheat pancakes with applesauce! He also now eats chicken and cheese on his tray and LOVES feeding himself! Day by day, he gets more and more in his mouth and less on the tray and in the bib pocket. haha. I am still nursing, and he's having about 3 meals a day and then we make a bottle for bedtime (daddy's favorite time!)!

Oh yeah, he holds his bottle when he gets one! We don't help him, he has no problem holding it, and he takes breaks like we used to when we gave it to him! So cute! He has a sippy cup with a little water when he gets his dinner, and has no problem drinking out of it. Like pacifiers, we had to go through about 10 before we found one he liked. We did buy a nuk training sippy that had a soft silicone lid (much softer than silicone on other sippy cups) that helped the transition for him...glad they make something like that!

Still sleeping about 12 hours every night (Since 3 months old...and BELIEVE ME, we count ourselves lucky!). Always been an 8:30-8:30 baby, not going to change that anytime soon. The hours obviously work for him and they definitely work for us, so it's been wonderful.

Has two teeth! The bottom ones. The same time he got his first tooth (around 8 months), he got his first cold, and boy did that suck! He was miserable, waking up all night, couldn't keep his binky in because his nose was stuffy and he could not sleep! I felt so bad. But then his two teeth popped through, the cold went away, and we were back to the golden days!

First road trip and second wedding! We went to NJ for a good friend's wedding outside NYC and then continued to Maine to meet my beautiful new neice and Colby got to hang out and meet his cousins! He had a blast with Jackson, his 3 year old cousin. He wrestled, shared toys, took baths, and drooled all over his toys! It was so fun to see the cousins hang out. Wish we lived closer!

Just wait til you see his Halloween costume! (Hint - you know we call him "our lil stinker" heheh.

Painted this too to match his bedding

Daddy (Matt) did such a good job painting and putting the furniture together! There's a nice glider under the whale picture now...pics to come!

Some sweet lovey letters Matt wrote to Bre for their 1st wedding anniversary!

What's in a name?

Well, most of our family and friends know the name we have chosen for our baby boy set to "debut" in January, so we thought we'd formally announce it now, too!

Our little baby boy will be named...

Colby James Bogert

We have been talking to him and calling him that since August when we found out he was a boy! When we say "Colby James" in a funny voice, and he's in one of his "mobile" moods and moving around, he kicks continuously...so cute!

We both loved the name Colby, it is very different, easy to say and spell, and not run-of-the-mill. The middle name James was my late father's first name, and also his dad's name (my grandfather). My sister and brother's boys both have elements of my father's name too (Middle and Last). So now, it will be complete, his whole name between the three boys!

We can't wait until the winter to meet Colby!
